It has been a bad week for me last saturday I was on a hunting trip with a couple of other guys we had leased some land to rabbit hunt on when we got there the owners of the land ask to go with us we told them yes but no one could shoot any rabbits on the jump. We had ran 7 rabbits killed 6 of them when the son of the land owner is 25 years old. shot a rabbit on the jump he shot Prime and killed one of my buddies dogs. Prime is still in the vet Hospital he been there for 4 days he lost one eye. His mouth was damaged but they repaired that I should get to take him home today or wednesday. We are filing a case against the land owner and the son for damages but I don't know if we will get anything out of it because my buddy whipped up the son bad after he killed his dog I was to worried about prime to give a care. The vet said I could go back to hunting him in december but I don't know if this has ruined him.

He will never be forgot. He was so special.
You should never go with someone you don't know. You can tell them not to shoot on the jump but that don't mean they won't
This is the reason you got to know the guys you ate hunting with
Its very hard losing great hounds it is very hard to replace them but you have to keep trying.
We all have lost some great dogs

Sorry John it’s hard losing a great one but anyone who likes there dogs knows you just lost a family member
He won't have to be put down he died today the infection was just to great he couldn't over come it. The vet bill is a very high bill the guys dad that shot him is paying it.
I spend the money once like that to try and save a dog it was a waste of money the dog had to be put down so JA put him down.

John this is my opion is I would take the 35% chance because you can put him down if operation don’t work if he that good it’s worth a chance good luck
That is very sad . I once had a very good young female that got a spine injury . Had to squeeze her bladder to make her urinate . She did not get better and had to put her down . Hardest thing I ever did concerning dogs . So strange how things can change in a heart beat . I would ask if there is a way to get semen so you can get a pup from him ?
Had a meeting with the vet yesterday evening. if Prime makes it he will be unable to move his back legs and the back part of his back. the vet said that he life won't be worth living and they he needs to be put down. they a small chance that a operation could get his legs back but they said he only had a 35%chance of makeing it.

To be honest with you all I'm heart broken the best beagle I have every owned is going to die there nothing that can be done to stop it. to think a few weeks ago he was winning the club hunts championship.
The report isn't good. the infection when though out his body he is in the vet hospital on IV's they don't think he is going to make it.

The guy that shot him agreed to pay for all the vet bills on Prime and he is paying the other guy for his dog. that some good news
He was doing good but he took a bad turn thursday. He started swelling bad in his private parts and his hips he got to where is couldn't walk I took him to the vet he is back in the vet hospital. Some of the shots had entered his private parts he has a very bad infection in his spine. I will post a update on him today after I find out something they may have to operate on him again.

it is a shame someone would shoot arabbit on the jump this is why you don't do this a great hound is maybe destoried.
He is out of the hospital doing good. I can't take him hunting the rest of this month it will be December before I find out how he will do. He doesn't like loud nosies so I'm going to make noise around him I'm hoping he isn't gun shy now.
